The tour takes place in north-western Mongolia and its route lies in less then 100km from the Russian border. Dominating the skyline for much of the trek are the Kharkhiraa (4,037m/13,225ft) and Turgen (3,965m/13,009ft) peaks. This is an area of alpine lakes, swift mountain streams and vast glaciers. From mountain ridges and passes there open spectacular panoramas of glaciers, desert landscapes, large lake basins and expansive grasslands. Apart from seeing the vast tracts of unspoilt nature and undisturbed wild life it is also an opportunity to meditate and refill your soul with the energy of mother Earth. Ethnic Durvud people who inhabit the area will accompany you carrying your camp and food on 2 humped Bactrian camels. Living off large herds of domesticated yaks, sheep, goats and horses they lead a life style that has seemingly not changed for a few hundred years.
