DAY- BY DAY- ITINERARY
Day 1. Welcome to meet our Team / Travel to Semi Desert / Camel Riding Today, we’ll have a full day trip driving to Semi Desert, a unique combination of Gobi sand dunes, and beautiful mountains. We will have an opportunity to ride Camels in the steppe area. Overnight will stay at nomadic family in Ger.
Day 2. Excursion in the Museum of Erdene Zuu Monastery / Travel to Waterfall We start our trip to Kharkhorin, the ancient Capital of Great Mongolian Empire in 13th century, Kharkhorin was established in the valley of the Orkhon River in 1220. We visit Erdene Zuu Monastery was built in 1586 and is surrounded by beautiful white walls with 108 Stupas. After sightseeing, we continue our trip drive to the Orkhon Waterfall. The waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about twenty thousand years ago. Surround by high mountain peaks with green forest. Overnight will stay at nomadic family in Ger.
Day 3. Orkhon Waterfall / Start Horse Trek In the morning you will meet your horse for the first time. You will be briefed by the guides about the horses, the rules, the riding and sightseeing opportunities in the area. A whole day we will ride our horses through the high mountains of Khangai Range. On the way we will have opportunity to visit to a nomadic family to experience way of life of nomadic family. Around noon, we will make a short stop for a picnic near one of the rivers. After some hours in the saddles we will end up and spend our night an open-air in the tent.
Day 4. Eight Lakes / Lake Khuis The trails lead us to the Eight Lakes valley. This remote area was created by volcanic activities. It is locked between several extinct volcanoes and high mountains peaks. Legend says, valley shelters a large number of small lakes, all interconnected in the ground by rivers. The lakes are supplied with fresh water running from the mountains. The first lake will reach Khuis Lake.
Day 5. Lake Shireet Further into the local protected area to reach to Lake Shireet Nuur, it’s one of the largest of Eight Lakes. You will have time to explore around area of 8 Lakes. Overnight will also spend our night an open-air in the tent.
Day 6,7. Horseback Riding to the Orkhon Waterfall Today, we will ride backwards to Waterfall from the 8 Lakes. After 7hrs we will reach the place where we will stay for the night and relaxing after the riding trip. Overnight will stay at tourist camp in Ger.
Day 8. Khogno Khan Mountain Today, we will have a day trip and first day dedicated to relaxing and sightseeing around “Khogno Khan” mountain area, a unique combination of Gobi sand dunes and beautiful mountains. We will have an opportunity to walking around and explore the area. Overnight will stay at nomadic family in Ger.
Day 9. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar After breakfast we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar, on the way enjoy our lunch and ending our journey.
