The landscape is rugged and inhospitable, with little vegetation, but it varies enormously, from mountain massifs with barren rocky outcrops to the flat plains where you find poplar-fringed oases and sand dunes. It is habitat of threatened species, such as wild camel, Gobi bear or mazaalai and khulan or wild ass. The Gobi in the west, presents a unique combination of animal and plant life. The extreme climate average less than 100 mm rainfall annually and temperatures fluctuate from 40°C in summer to -40°C in winter.               Brief Itinerary Day 1.  Arrive in UB.
