Golden Gobi short tour

Once an ancient sea, the Gobi Desert occupies much of southern Mongolia. It is place that

attracts many fossil collectors. The landscape is rugged and inhospitable, with little vegetation, but it varies enormously, from mountain massifs with barren rocky outcrops to the flat plains where you find poplar-fringed oases and sand dunes. It is habitat of threatened species, such as wild camel, Gobi bear or mazaalai and khulan or wild ass. The Gobi in the west, presents a unique combination of animal and plant life. The extreme climate average less than 100 mm rainfall annually and temperatures fluctuate from 40°C in summer to -40°C in winter.               Brief Itinerary Day 1.  Arrive in UB.
