which was the ancient capital city of Mongolia in the 13th century for about 30 years, located in northwestern part of Uvurkhangai province of Mongolia. The Erdenezuu monastery is the oldest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, it was built in 1586 by Abtai Sain Khan. However after the fall of communism in Mongolia in 1990, the monastery was turned over to the lamas and Erdenezuu and again became a place of worship. After a day excursion in city, we will continue to drive to the Khogno Khan mountain area, a unique combination of Gobi sand dunes, and beautiful mountains. We will have an opportunity to walk the Ruins of Temples inside of mountain. Overnight will stay at a nomadic family in Ger.
